On October 18, 2025, Masterman Robotics attended Ramp Riot at Wissahickon High School. Before Team 10918’s official rookie season in 2026, the event gave students their first competition experience.
A robot on loan.
Mount Olive lent the team Beta 1 for the event. It was a Mount Olive robot, and the loan gave our new team an opportunity to take part while learning from experienced students.
That support continued at the controls. Experienced students coached our new drivers, helping them get their first experience of competition driving.
A repair before the first round.
Before the first qualification round, a string failure needed attention. The team made a quick repair. Alongside driving, the day brought a first encounter with the practical work that happens around a competition robot.
Ramp Riot became part of our beginning: a day to participate, make a repair, and learn with help from another team. Mount Olive’s loan and the students who coached our drivers made that experience possible.
The next chapter was our own rookie season as the Bluesteel Dragons.
